FIRST RIDE N' DINE OF 2007
THE DRIVERS CLUB OUTSIDE OF STIR
CRAZY CAFE
Dan Allemand once had a dream.
This dream was to coax as many members of his bike club as
possible into taking a 50 mile bike tour of Kenosha and Racine
counties, have lunch at a small cafe and then ride home.
On Friday September 7th this dream came true.
The rain
threatened all morning keeping registration numbers lower than
expected but as the people began to arrive at the registration
table right outside the Hannes Bike Shop it was apparent there
would be enough for a good group ride.
A rain shower
delayed the start of the ride by one hour, but by that time
there were ten riders assembled ready to go. The route Dan
had chosen would take the group through the center of Kenosha
County and then would head North into Racine County where they
would have lunch at Stir Crazy Cafe in Rochester.
Aside from
numerous flats, 25mph cross winds and swarming mosquitoes the
ride was declared a success.
