The Kenosha Drivers Club was called upon to enter their world famous, award winning chili in a recent chili cook-off at the nearby Brat Stop in Kenosha. Several members felt that they were up for the challenge. (Dan Allemand, Chris Hannes, Jim Strouf, & Brian Rummelhart). All four members agreed that there would be a couple of hurdles they must jump: (1) They had no idea how to make award winning chili, and: (B) the last thing they made was an egg bake that consisted of pizza, doughy biscuits, raw eggs, and 3 lbs. of fatty undercooked bacon. This concoction resulted in one person throwing his food across the table in disgust. Although, another person did go back for seconds because he said the pizza was good. This alone gave the club members enough confidence to think they could actually pull this off. And, they thought, what's the worst that could happen. "We are going up against 9 local restaurants and pubs, so we should be able to finish in the top ten." Allemand exclaimed. All they needed was a plan. Even though they never did come up with a plan, they still proceeded.  They had a unanimous vote of one (Rumme), and declared chicken chili to be there entry. Hannes started by buying precisely 16 lbs of chicken. He knew that would be exactly what this chili needed. Since Hannes had the main ingredient at his house already, Dan & Brian bought the other things they probably needed and went to the Hannes kitchen to create their masterpiece. Then the magic happened. All of the chopping, cutting, cooking, dicing & slicing..........it was enough to bring a tear to Allemands eye. That, and the fact that he was cutting onions. Any way you look at it, it got a hug out of Hannes. Just when it looked like things couldn't get any better, Dan reached into a cupboard with his eyes closed and pulled out the beloved mystery spice. All that was left to do now was to let it cook for awhile, then let it set up over night. Just then, Strouf showed up to help eat Halloween candy. Thanks Jim. None of the men were able to sleep that night with the anticipation of the next days events.
