DRIVERS CLUB
TRIATHLETES RAKE IN AWARDS AT RECPLEX INDOOR TRIATHLON
CARL CARLSON'S WIN STREAK ENDED
TEAM ALLEMAND ALMOST SWEEPS TEAM MARTIN

A calf injury and
dehydration cramps brought an end to Carl Carlson's
amazing win streak at the RecPlex Indoor Triathlon
Series but all was not lost as a second place overall
finish still leaves him poised to win the overall series
with only one competition left. When the dust
cleared The Drivers Club took three age group
championships , had two impressive debuts and in a
surprising twist Dan Allemand edged Matt Martin.
This left Martin battling newcomer 16 year old
Lindsey Allemand to the bitter end in a desperate
attempt to avoid a Team Allemand sweep.

The March edition of
the RecPlex Indoor Triathlon Series once again pitted
series leader Carlson against Brian Rummelhart.
The two Driver Club members swept the top two spots at
the January race. Rumme could not take advantage
of Carlson's injury plagued performance as he too
succumbed to dehydration cramps during the run portion
of the race. Like Carlson he did win his age
group. Carlson finished with 12.28 miles to
Rumme's 11.91 miles.
Making her first
appearance in an indoor triathlon Jodi Rummelhart was
the third finisher for the Drivers Club finishing 14th
overall with 10.42 miles. This completed the Team
Rummelhart sweep of Matt Martin.
Martin, hampered by
shin splints, toughed out another difficult day.
He used a sizzling swim, and strong bike to fend off a
hard charging Lyndsey Allemand to avoid the Team
Allemand Sweep. He finished with 9.02 miles to win
his age group.
Lyndsey had a strong
showing in her first triathlon finishing 2nd in her age
and battling Martin right until the finish line.
Her finishing distance was 8.17 miles. "Although
I'm very happy with my performance I really wanted to
catch Matt on the run and be named the new MVM. I
just couln't catch him on the run."
Next up is the April
22nd Indoor/Outdoor finale of the RecPlex Indoor
Triathlon Series.
