Who We Are... What We Ride
Check out your favorite DC rider:
Name:
Chuck Leipzig
Member
Bike:
Trek - OCLV
Nickname: Up Chuck,
Chucky, ReTodd's Brother,
About Him:
Chuck is an experienced
biker, runner, iron pumper, and he dabbles in tennis. He even has
the energy to get in some quality fishing before our morning commute.
He bags his daily limit, or at the very least catches his lunch for the
day. Chuck will always be willing to push the pace after the
turnaround on 'pancake hill', as we head back through Carol Beach to our
final destinations. He has already been instrumental in recruiting
a new member for the club (see below), and someone to talk with
all the way to #5.
Nickname: Kristin
Aurora, Kristin Krash, Heathers Friend, Justins Ho
About Her:
If the saying "If you're
not crashin, you're not riding hard enough" is true, then
Kristin rides very hard. Her very first time on the trails
landed her in the ER. Not being one to quit she purchased
a new bike and her skills have rapidly been improving.
Unfortunately she has returned to the ER after another hilarious
crash and is currently on the mend.
Kristin is planning her
Gala wedding for next summer as her and Justin Aurora are
finally taking their vows after an extended courtship. She also
is an RN at one of the ER's we frequent, both as fireman and
cyclists.
She was introduced to the club by her friend's sister, and
has since also been known as Heather's friend. (It's
complicated) We look forward to seeing her smiling face at group
and charity rides next season, and are anticipating her race
debut at Ore 2 Shore '08. Baring any more ER visits she
plans on joining the Drivers Club rich tandem history by
becoming Heather's stoker for Smackdown '09 (Ore 2 Shore).
Nickname: Toby, Grim
Reaper, Heather the Feather, Heather the Hammer
About Her:
After completing the Best
Dam Bike Tour Century Heather has become a full member and has
since competed in her first mountain bike race. She has
also been instrumental in recruiting new members. When she
is not riding or fighting fires she is going to school to become
a PA. Whatever that is. She also specializes in
driving fallen members to the ER after she "witnesses" the
involuntary dismounts.
Look for Heather in the results area
next year as she plans on doing more racing, and reaping.
About Him:
Leif has been riding with
us occasionally. He works 'Flight for Life' on some
evenings, and because of that he can't make every C-shift ride.
Leif seems to enjoy the comradary that the morning
constitutionals offer. He takes off from #3 and travels
the 16-18 mile course with ease.
About Him:
Henderson is the newest
member of the Drivers Club, and the newest member of our shift.
He has expressed an interest in joining our riding, and has
quickly and easily adjusted to station life. He's already
completed his maiden voyage, and after some slight equipment
modifications he should be back pedaling hard throughout the
remainder of the summer and well into the fall months.
