Homey's Response
Below

On a snowy afternoon, four DC members went to Pet's to take the
Homey Challenge.
Almost one week ago Homey
challenged anyone running in the upcoming elections to a bicycle
race at Pet's. Two days later Jeff Weidner borrowed a bike
and called his new best buddies from the Drivers Club and rode
to Pet's for the race. At first when Homey wasn't there it
was assumed he was running late due to the foot of snow on the
roads. To pass the time the quartet did a warmup loop
through Pet's. When they returned Homey had still not
arrived. After completing the second loop and still no
Homey, Weidner was declared the champion

response
After having this morning's edition
of the "Kenosha Drivers Club Rocks" website brought to my
attention, I am compelled to demand a complete investigation
as to what the facts are in this case.
While it may be true that I
was not at Petrifiying Springs Park on Wednesday, The 6th
of February (Ash Wednesday)- Like many of us in the greater
Kenosha Area I was besieged by what this season has brought
to us. While I realized that this can be no excuse for what
has, unfortunately been cast as a lack of honor or
commitment to a challenge that I have brought I must at this
time speak in my own defense,
Fact #1-- at no time did I ever
state that this challenge was valid on February 6th, or any
other particular Wednesday, The Challenge was for Wednesday-
at noon. Didn't say which Wednesday, Next time I'll be more
precise in an effort to avoid such misunderstandings in the
future.
Fact #2-- At about the same time as
Hannes claims to have been in the park with the foursome
shown on the website in what is evidently a low quality
"Photoshop" picture there should be several feet of snow on
the ground, Weidner was sending out Emails and making phone
calls to let members know about the cancellation of the
previously scheduled meeting.
Fact #3 at least one of the persons
shown in the picture appears to have lost a significant
amount of body mass while recent sightings of this same
person would show that this was followed by a rapid burst in
growth metabolism.
Recent congressional hearings have
been conducted involving major league baseball players,
Could members of the Drivers Club be the next target for
Senator Mitchell's inquiries into performance enhancing
substances in sports?
While this has caused me some
difficulty I can clearly state that this has not, and will
not
be a distraction from my campaign.
I have great resolve to not engage in "dirty politics" or
negative campaigns that are too common on the American
political landscape. I will hold true to my Ideals and
virtues.
And if those should ever fail me,
well, do you remember that scene in "Breaking
Away" where the movie's hero and main character
(Dave Stoller) rides up next to his heroes and legendary
riders from Italy, Do you know the scene I'm talking
about? Well, let me just say here that I have personally
met Eddie and I too have a frame pump...
Just don't forget to vote...

#1 After reading Phil's original
challenge, let it be known that Phil did state the challenge
would be for THIS WEDNESDAY, and he sent his letter in just
prior to Feb. 6th. Anyone with a reasonable thought process
would know that Phil meant for the challenge to be on Feb. 6th.
#2 As far as I could read, Hannes never
claimed to be at the park at any specific time.
#3 Anyone that has seen Hannes lately
knows late he has lost a 'significant
amount of body mass' .....why does
Phil have a problem with that?
Phil's response in and
of itself could be seen as a negative campaign.
Stated comments
above (or anywhere on this site) are not necessarily the
official views/opinions of the Kenosha Drivers Club. (but they
might be)
